The Reason for the Season

Sleigh bells ringing, snow falling (in some countries anyway lol)…you guessed it, it’s Christmas time again!!  I don’t know about you but this is one of my favourite times of the year filled with so much Joy and Love that comes in so many different shapes and forms. From choosing this years colour scheme through to the setting up of the Christmas tree and the baking of Christmas Cookies this is a time of year for family and friends to come together.

Our colour scheme this year was gold and silver – I hope you’ll agree that our tree looks beautiful and the star on top has a meaning many of us don’t even realise. We see bright LED lights hanging from homes and shops with beautiful displays of decorated trees and ornaments intermingled with the occasional santa’s grotto. What’s not to like about Christmas time?

Approximately 45% of the worlds population celebrate Christmas – I mean isn’t that amazing, doesn’t that just emphasise the importance of this amazing holiday. We have come very far from the first Christmas in many ways. Culturally we see Christmas as a time to celebrate family and friends, its a time people come together to eat and be merry but what is the true meaning of Christmas?

In actual fact Christmas is the time that we celebrate the birth of Jesus, God made flesh on earth, our saviour who came as a sacrifice so that we might live. Yes this is a time of love and joy for there was and will never be a greater love than that shown by our Father in heaven through the sending of His Son. As you go into this holiday season think on this for a second, take time out to pray and remember the name of Jesus, forgive those who have wronged you and show love to those who hate you. Be the light for others as Jesus was for us.

God bless you all and Merry Christmas.

The Best Day of Our Lives!

Apologies for being M.I.A (missing in action) for so long! We have been so incredibly busy the last two months as we were planning our beautiful white wedding celebration!!!

On October 14th, the sun was shining and, in a beautiful old church in Surrey England, we tied the knot in front of all our amazing friends and family. The occasion was everything we ever dreamt of and so much more.

The day was filled with laughter and pure emotion. I couldn’t help to think to myself I am so incredibly blessed to have this amazing man in my life and what a beautiful gift marriage is. From heaven to earth God has given us an institution that demonstrates the relationship we have with Him through this miraculous union.

We decided to share some of our beautiful photos with you all. We hope you enjoy and will be sharing more in the coming months.

The Hands of God

For those of you who know me I am, how shall I put it, a germophobe and one of the first things I do after a long day is to wash my hands thoroughly and remove all that city grime – for those of you who live in London you know exactly what I mean!! Today was no different but as I was washing my hands a wonderful thought dropped into my mind – what an awe-inspiring creation the human body is!! Grabbing my food from the microwave (and accidentally burning myself in the process) I proceeded to walk upstairs, with every step I couldn’t help but think how marvelously intelligent our God is. I looked down at my hands, from front to back, and thought that only a wonderful God could have designed the hands of a human so intricately. A bundle of cells each with an individual purpose – one side for touching, feeling, holding and the other side as a protective layer for all those blood vessels and nerves!!

While pondering this I couldn’t help to think, how can people not believe in a God and believe this all just chance.

When we look at the intricacies and complexities of the human body that in itself is all the evidence we need. Romans 1:20 says

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse”.

When we examine nature we see all the proof we need to believe in God.

Human beings are masterpieces that were clearly thought out and designed in a marvelous way.

Psalm 139 says:

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body”

As I sit here contemplating how wonderful this all is, it reminds me that because we are fearfully and wonderfully made, God places  value on each and everyone of us and the value God places on us is immeasurable.

So if God values each of us how much more must we value, respect and lift up one another, because each person is Gods precious masterpiece. Be empowered, Be encouraged – you are a masterpiece!!
