2 weddings down and 1 to go! We just had our traditional Ghanaian Wedding and it was AMAZING!!
Its 8am I’m awake bright and early…my heart filled with that mix of anxiousness and excitement – you know what I mean ladies. I could feel the sun shining on my face as I lay there and could smell the delicious aroma of the dishes my mother was preparing downstairs (nothing will ever beat mommas home cooking). Not knowing what the day held I jumped out of bed and slipped into something comfortable.
As I proceeded down the stairs the railings were decorated with pink and white balloons, streamers and ribbons at every corner, there were chairs draped with neatly placed and beautiful white covers. The room was perfect.
With the party starting at 1pm and guests arriving from 12:30 I had limited time to get my hair and makeup done!! You know that sense of panic when you just have so much to do…well that was me. Luckily my amazing cousin B was on hand to do what can only be described as a beautiful job with my hair and makeup. With that done and laughing with my girls…I waited to be presented to my handsome groom.
The wedding turned out to be wonderful and emotional, considering I was a bit reluctant to go through with it when my parents had initially mentioned it, I was absolutely thrilled. Mike and I were separated till it was time for me to enter. He came down to greet my extended family and when the time was right my sister and cousins brought me down for the big reveal.
It was a beautiful day full of love, family and friends and with the love of my life by my side and God at the centre everything perfectly came together.
Here are a few photos from the day! Hope you enjoy! xx

God’s Grace is truly wonderful – I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel so unworthy of the love and faithfulness that God offers each and every one of us. Isn’t it amazing when God highlights internal conflicts that you have either been suppressing or ignoring for months or even years!! Such is His love for you that He always wants you to strive for excellence for the greatness to which all His children are called.
Lately, I have been struggling with some internal conflicts which I have never dealt with – conflicts that I repressed even after giving my life to Christ thinking that I could just continue with life as before in some respects. Isn’t it shocking how conflicts, if not dealt with, can creep back into your life years later and threaten to consume you like a whirlwind laying waste to all that stand before it.
Issues of unforgiveness and bitterness can hinder one’s walk with the Lord causing hearts to harden and grow distant. In my case I truly believed I had forgiven and moved on until an incident occurred and Gods revelation became so clear to me. Yes, I had moved on but I still harboured bitterness towards that person and refused to let it go.
When God brings something to light it means it’s time to deal with it. He will give you the Grace (empowerment) to finish the work He has begun in you. For me, I can’t say its been a quick fix but hand in hand God is walking with me and I can honestly say it’s becoming much easier everyday. He is such a good good Father and He loves you.
Becoming a new creation means leaving behind all the old mindsets and attitudes we wore before accepting Christ and putting on His very nature, His attitudes, His mindset and His behaviour. The becoming part may be a long journey but with Jesus by your side you can do anything. I would love to encourage you with Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Whatever your situation be teachable, know that He is with you and His love for you will never fail. Trust in Him and He will make your paths straight.
Stay blessed x
Recently, I’ve decided to start reading some of the smaller books in the bible, Starting with Hosea and working my way to Malachi. I am now on Amos and what a book it truly is, a book of powerful imagery and Gods mercy for His people.
The book is a completion of prophesies given to Amos by God. These prophesies are quite different from that of the other Prophets, as God uses him to speak to a select group in Israel. This group consists of the privileged and those practising injustice regarding oppression of the poor and disadvantaged of society for their capital gain. They were a people with no moral fabric, full of pride, arrogance and greed. Israel had turned their hearts from God and His laws. Their eyes were no longer fixed on the one who delivered their ancestors out of Egypt and had delivered them from the hand of their enemies but instead wickedness had run rapid and they were turning on their own people.
This is when God brings in a humble Shepherd from a small town outside of Jerusalem, as we see so many times throughout the bible this humble Shepherd is emboldened and strengthened by the Spirit of God. His courage and boldness to preach and proclaim the word of the Lord regardless of society norms is inspiring and God uses him mightily.
Amos declares Gods judgement on Israels neighbours and on Israel itself for not returning to Him. Amos speaks about the day of the Lord and the great wrecking for the unrepentant and complacent. Even with all the evil and the Israelite’s hardened hearts, God still declares Israel’s restoration. He speaks about the great rebuilding of its cities and finally giving them a land that will never be uprooted.
The book of Amos is fascinating and gives insight into the very heart of God. It shows us the things that truly break the heart of God while giving caution to all of us regarding how we should live and our responsibility to the disadvantaged in society.
Though 75 percent of the book is Gods judgement on His people it ends with their restoration and shows us that if we are willing to come back to our God, no matter how far we have gone, He will never turn us away. He is always seeking after the heart of the lost, He’s waiting for you to welcome Him in.
Today is the day, don’t wait any longer, Jesus is calling. Come Home.
We believe in living life to the fullest and with that comes the responsibility of sharing the gospel. Remember as His Word says,’You are the salt of the earth…you are the light of the world’.
We will be focusing on all things lifestyle Christianity! From fashion to social change, we hope to share and impact the lives of young women and men across all spheres.
Tune in for future blogs and God bless you all.
