The Hands of God

For those of you who know me I am, how shall I put it, a germophobe and one of the first things I do after a long day is to wash my hands thoroughly and remove all that city grime – for those of you who live in London you know exactly what I mean!! Today was no different but as I was washing my hands a wonderful thought dropped into my mind – what an awe-inspiring creation the human body is!! Grabbing my food from the microwave (and accidentally burning myself in the process) I proceeded to walk upstairs, with every step I couldn’t help but think how marvelously intelligent our God is. I looked down at my hands, from front to back, and thought that only a wonderful God could have designed the hands of a human so intricately. A bundle of cells each with an individual purpose – one side for touching, feeling, holding and the other side as a protective layer for all those blood vessels and nerves!!

While pondering this I couldn’t help to think, how can people not believe in a God and believe this all just chance.

When we look at the intricacies and complexities of the human body that in itself is all the evidence we need. Romans 1:20 says

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse”.

When we examine nature we see all the proof we need to believe in God.

Human beings are masterpieces that were clearly thought out and designed in a marvelous way.

Psalm 139 says:

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body”

As I sit here contemplating how wonderful this all is, it reminds me that because we are fearfully and wonderfully made, God places  value on each and everyone of us and the value God places on us is immeasurable.

So if God values each of us how much more must we value, respect and lift up one another, because each person is Gods precious masterpiece. Be empowered, Be encouraged – you are a masterpiece!!

A Brides Journal: The Registry

Marrying someone who is a citizen of another country can be, how shall I put it…complicated. To cut a long story relatively short, recently Mike and I have been on an emotional roller coaster and it has reminded us of how important it is for God to be at the centre of every decision, every action, every word within your relationship and marriage.  It is with this in mind that we decided to complete the registry portion of our big day this June and celebrate the whole shebang in October with all our family and friends.

God has remained faithful (Psalm 119:90). At our lowest points when we saw no way  out we were reminded of Gods promises for us, this not only strengthened our faith but drew us closer to Him. He is the one who has carried us through it all. He is forever faithful and forever true, our God, our Father, our Saviour. I want to encourage all of you – if you are going through any trouble, any storm trust in the Lord – give it to our Father and He will make your path’s straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Without Rival

Wow…this book…it changed my perspective, it changed my life!! Not sure if it’s obvious yet but this is book has impact, influence, encouragement and is a must read, if you haven’t already. You are Without Rival.

Did you know you know God does not love us equally?

For God to love us equally would mean that His love is measured, but as Lisa rightly says it’s not, His love for you is INFINITE!!! I mean how awesome is that girls – the creator of the heavens and the earth loves you uniquely and infinitely!!

In Without Rival Lisa emphasises that you are a one of a kind masterpiece that can never be replaced, there is no one in the world like you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and not only were you made to be set apart, you were Chosen.

Have you ever battled with self-esteem, have you ever striven to be accepted by the ‘clique’? A lot of the time we try and hide it (you know what I mean girls) but growing up I continually sought the ‘acceptance’ of what I have since come to know of as ‘the world’. No matter how much people tried to help I did not believe it and if I did not believe it then…how could it be true? This impacted my relationship with my Father (God) and how I thought He saw me…how wrong I was.

God has truly used Lisa to place such beautiful expressions in this book, expressions that opened my eyes and heart to something fresh, a new revelation about myself.  As Lisa beautifully puts it

“God uniquely created your DNA and knit your frame in secret so he could surprise the world. He authored how your heart expresses itself; he was the architect of your smile and the melody of your voice; he made all of your features with the fondest thoughts of only you in mind. He celebrated along with your parents your first smile and watched with affection your first steps. Because of this tender, intentional care, there are multiple facets of your life that express and reflect his love uniquely. He wove all these exceptional aspects and specific talents into the package of you, his daughter. He knew each attribute would be expressed best through your feminine form”.

Talk about revelation! I would highly encourage women of all ages, even men, to read this book. Lisa presents the Father’s heart in the most beautiful way and I believe you will be forever changed as you delve into its pages.
